Tumbled Unakite - the green is epidote
Tumbled Unakite - the green is epidote

Description

Epidote is almost as hard as quartz, but its dark color usually makes the stone appear opaque. When viewed from different directions, epidote will flash strong colors of yellow, green, or brown. Epidote can be mistaken for tourmaline, except that tourmaline has poor cleavage (the structural lines upon which a mineral will break up when hit with a hammer), unlike Epidote.
