Description
Zoisite is a member of the epidote group found in metamorphic rocks, quartz veins, pegmatites, and some ore deposits. This is the green matrix material that often accompanies ruby corundum. The finest specimens of this stone may be cut and polished as gemstones or as beads. Zoisite may change color momentarily when it is placed under a normal electric light and more lastingly when it is heated. In fact, it is not uncommon to find stones that have been artificially enhanced by this method.
