The natural shape of an apache tear is somewhat spherical. These are formed by fragments of obsidian that have been smoothed and rounded by the action of wind and water. This stone has been considered to be one of the tears of Native American women, mourning for the warriors driven from a cliff by the cavalry. This is a form of black obsidian, but is much gentler in its effect. Apache tears are excellent for absorbing negative energy and protecting the aura. It has been used to comfort in times of grief. It provides energy to stimulate analytical capabilities and precision. It is good for channeling spirit guides and higher beings.
