Description
A large group of minerals with a distinctive sheet-like formation, micas have a wide range of industrial applications. There are more than 30 mica minerals, the most common being biotite, lepidolite, and muscovite. The relative quantities of aluminum and iron affect the coloration - micas with high aluminum content are known as light mica, while iron-rich specimens are described as dark mica.
