Description
Jade consists of two minerals - jadeite and nephrite. The more valuable of the two is jadeite. Nephrite is not actually a mineral, but a variety of the mineral actinolite (tremolite) - albeit a very compact and massive from of that mineral. Jade's strength is remarkable. Tougher than many types of steel, it was used in early civilizations for axes, knives, and weapons. The finest jadeite is marketed under the name Imperial Jade.

Rarity: Most colors are available but some are rare. Nephrite is more easily obtained than jadeite.
