Legend Weaver: Adventures

Adventures For the Mind

The modules below are set in a single area on the continent of Uta near the Kanit Moutains (you can download the area's maps from the Panjere section of this web site).

The modules are generic enough that they can be used with any role playing system. You will have to go through the modules before running the adventures and work out the monster and NPC stats that go along with your system. I have included monster sheets as well as stat sheets for some of the major NPCs a group is likely to meet while adventuring in the area. These all pertain to the Legend Weaver; The Making of Heroes game, but should give you a good basis if you decide to convert them over to another system.

I have laid out an Adventure sequence below (the first document in the list). This document gives direction to a set of linked adventures that will keep a new group busy for a while (a really long time once I finish everything). Whenever possible, I have tried to include adventure links within the material, to give creative Legend Weavers the room they need to put their ideas in as well.

Designing Your Own Adventures

I actual fact, I hope that you find this material so good that you want to base your own adventures on it. If enough people write adventures and include them here for others, it will become a site where you can go and actually find a world full of things for your character's to do. If you do write adventures based on this material I would ask that you acknowledge the use of Panjere as the background you chose to use. I would also ask that you use the background as presented if you wish to have your adventure added to those already here (i.e., do not change the name of inn keepers). If you want to add to something that is here, feel free to do so, but do not change what has come before.

Legal Stuff

By making this material available on the net I do not give up any rights in regards to this material. You may reproduce what is here for personal use only. If you submit something to this web site and it is added to the site, then the material added is yours. Just realize that there is no compensation (other than having your name plastered all over it) for material that is going to be given away for free. I will eventually be adding a sales section to the web site but that is not for awhile and in any case, I will not offer for sale any material submitted to the site and offered to other gamers for free.

File Formats

If you do not have Adobe's Acrobat Reader...

These files should download fairly quickly. If they do not then updating to the latest version of the reader should fix the problem. Newer files were converted using the latest version of the conversion program so backward compatibility may be an issue. You can get a faster download by right clicking the file and saving it directly onto your hard drive using the Save Target As option. I myself experienced a problem when I went to update the reader. Although the new reader was installed, the previous version of the reader was left intact and the documents still loaded into it if viewing them on the web (which gave me problems). I had to uninstall the original before installing the new version to correct the problem.

Recent Updates and Changes (May 9, 2001)

I have been looking at updating and adding to the list of monsters in the game. Originally I was going to add monsters as I required them in the adventure sequence. Someone asked were the monster manual was and... well, I had to say there wasn't one...

Well, there still isn't one, but what the heck. I just spent (more than a little time) making a whole boatload of monster stat sheets. Print them all out and put them into a binder and with a little imagination you can think of it as a monster manual.

Many existing stat sheets have been updated. Any updated sheet will now print on a single page a lot closer to the size I originally intended. The original idea was that you could fold one of the stat sheets in half and have a monster on a half sized page (5 and a half inches high by 8 inches wide). Well, once all the converting is finished, the fold line ends up off center (it's never easy is it).

So far, I have 11 files, each containing 7 to 26 monster stat sheets. The files are broken into groups (as you can see by the list below). I am currently working on a general update on all the Legend Weaver game files found on the web site. If you have been playing Legend Weaver at all and have noticed mistakes or have suggestions please let me know (actually, any feedback would be appreciated).

The Resolve Stat

As I was working on monster stat sheets (specifically, the spectral dead) I realized that I required an additional stat for the characters. The problem with the undead is that many of them can take on a visage that is so horrible that looking at one makes you want to run in fear. In addition to this, there was no real way to take into account the powers of domination that a vampire might have. The resolve stat can be used to deal with these two situations plus a few more as I realized as the work progressed. I am including a file here explaining the resolve stat in detail.

The Adventure Sequence

This is where the adventure sequence starts. The town of Sandpoint and Shanley's Keep will be the main two areas the group will call home. This document describes the town of Sandpoint. The support documents describe key areas within the town including the Chancellor's Mansion, the town's Three Inns and the Magic Users Tower. Combat sheets are provided for those in town who can fight. Personalities for other major NPCs are listed in the documents themselves.
